About CaSSSA

Dues enim nostra, et aliis per lusum’: For God, our best, with others through sport.

The Catholic Secondary Schoolgirls' Sports Association (CaSSSA) is a sporting association for girls from thirteen Catholic secondary schools based in south-east Queensland, Australia. Competition is offered to girls from Years 5 to 12.

The association was formed in 2014 as an amalgamation of the Catholic Secondary Girls' Schools Sports Association (CSGSSA, which organised Swimming, Athletics, and Cross country), the Catholic Schools Tennis Association (CSTA, founded in 1930) and the Brisbane School Girls Sports Association (BSGSA, founded in 1996 and organising other team sports).

Each year, championships are contested for Swimming, Cross Country, and Track and Field (Athletics). These Championships are split into three divisions: The Large Schools (7 in total), Medium Schools (6 in total) and Primary Schools (7 in total).

The number of sport offered by CaSSSA has continued to expand, with 8 sports now offered across Wednesday fixtures including: AFL, indoor cricket, volleyball, football, basketball, netball, touch and hockey.

Following on in the tradition of The Lawn Tennis Association, CaSSSA continues to offer tennis fixtures on Saturdays, with the history and traditions being preserved in the changeover to the new CaSSSA competition.

In addition to the four terms of sporting fixtures, CaSSSA also offers Gala Days for Rugby 7’s and Primary sports.
